WE ARE LOOKING TO FIND AN EXPERT IN GOOGLE ANALYTICS WHO IS ABLE TO BUILD A CUSTOMISED TRACKING CODE INTO OUR CALENDAR PLUGIN FOR US.
Before you look any further make sure you are proficient in these languages and familiar with Wordpress:
We have a Wordpress calendar plugin that lets users generate their own customised version of the plugin to use on their websites, so we would need you to add these features to the plugins generated by the "generator"
Ultimately our plugin is an event based calendar and we want to the ability to track user statistics and know how many people are viewing the calendar and how many times an event is clicked
We believe this could be accomplished with google analytics and its custom actions. See more here: [url removed, login to view]
So in the end this is how it would work:
1) We generate the plugin through our "generator" plugin
a)while generating the plugin we create a new profile for our google analytics account and copy the tracking code from the profile into a field in the generator plugin.
2) The client receives the plugin and installs it on his website and everything works just as it did before, only now we are capturing the user data.
So basically, the calendar is displaying featured events as well as a calendar with regular events. If a featured event is clicked it is taken to the event website. If an event in the calendar is clicked a tooltip with event details is displayed.
We also want to track how many impressions the calendar gets (how many times it is displayed, and for how long. To trigger the calendar a date in the sidebar widget (jquery ui datepicker) has to be clicked, which would then open up the calendar in a lightbox(colorbox).
We fully understand that there will need to be some further correspondence in order to explain the job, but just to reiterate that any successful bidders MUST be fully confident with Google Analytics, or at least similar tracking systems.
