This game is to be played on Facebook which uses the Facebook API. Object: To collect images and create sets that may then be “saved?? for viewing on secondary page “Storage Area??. Once a complete set is stored, it will be available for download by the player. ## Deliverables Image Trading Game Application Development This game is to be played on the social network Facebook. Object: To collect images and create sets that may then be “saved?? for viewing on secondary page “Storage Area??. Once a complete set is stored, all images from that set will be available as a zip file for download by the player. Components Game Home Page The images currently held by the player will be shown. Players will be able to attempt to make Combination Images - see below. Their current in-game currency (tokens) and level number/overall score will be displayed. Links to the player areas (shopping center, active play, trading, etc.) will be available by name and icon. The first page of a player’s Trade History will be displayed with links to older entries. At the top of this Trade History list will be the notifications of Trading Area trades that have occurred since the last time they logged into the application. This smaller notification section may be dynamically closed by the player. Player Settings In this area, the player’s friends who have the application installed will be displayed. There will be a radio selector next to each friend’s name. By default, all of these friends will be selected as “Keep them Out??. These people will remain a player’s social network friends but will not be able to view the player’s active images/trade with that player. If the player desires, they may select “Let them In??. If and only if both players have selected one another as “Let them In?? will they be able to view one another’s images and initiate trades via the Active Playing Area. Available Image Sets A listing of active sets and retired sets. Active sets will have ghosted images and the image’s name and value displayed only. All images from the retired sets are visible. Storage Area A place where saved sets of images may be viewed. Any images that have not been collected will be displayed as alternative images. (This is to keep a small amount of suspense for new images.) A minimum of five unique images from the same set must be collected in order to store them. Images that have previously been stored may be stored again with no limitation. The number of vaulted images above one of each will be shown as a numerical overlay on the corner of the image. If storing these images results in the player’s active images falling below five, then random images (not Golden Images nor Combination Images) will be given to them to bring that number up to five. However, the application should not give out an image of a higher value than that of the highest one stored. If more than one image is to be given, then subsequent values should be decreasing from the first. Once an entire set is stored, that set will be available for download by the player. The set’s name will become linked to the download file. Shopping Center Images may be purchased here with tokens. Only active sets are available for purchase. Individual images will be available for purchase at several stores. The players will select a store from the Shopping Center page. There they will see a grouping of 15 images available for purchase. Images may be available in more than one store, as specified by the Game Manager. Each image’s point value will be the purchase price using tokens. This purchase price will be deducted from the player’s “bank?? for each successful purchase. If the image sells out prior to a transaction completion, the player will be notified that the item sold out. Only a link titled “Buy?? under each image will be necessary to click for purchase. The number of instances available for sale of each image will be designated by the application. It will be determined by the rate at which the image sells out, how many stores it is available in for purchase and the image’s value. Images that sell out will be replaced by others assigned to that store. The frequency of replacement for each image needs to be dynamically calculated. Images that sell out quickly need to be replaced more often than images that do not. However, they should not automatically be replaced by themselves. At least one other image should cycle through the available slot prior to the in-demand image returning. Certain stores will only be made available to players upon reaching a predetermined level. If they are unable to shop at a store due to level constraints, a message to that effect will be posted. If a player is unable to shop in a store or the player does not have enough tokens to purchase an image, that image will be reduced in opacity to visually signify such. Active Playing Area Players are able to view their friends active images. This includes the Automated Player’s active images. Each player will navigate via their friend’s account image, which will be at the top of the screen. A maximum of 5 friends will be shown at any given time. The center friend will be the active images in the viewing area. There will be two friends to each side of the center with arrows pointing to the left and right. Players will be able to use these arrows to dynamically scroll through their playable friends. A new friend’s active images will be displayed in the viewing area only when a player clicks on the friend’s account icon. The active playing area will allow for trades to occur between players who are friends. Scenario: Player 1 is viewing Player 2’s images. Player 1 clicks on an image from Player 2’s active images. That selected image will appear at the top of the next page. Below this will be Player 1’s active images. Player 1 clicks on an image from their own active images to attempt a trade. A third page for confirmation is displayed showing what images will be traded, the current owners of each image and a “Trade!?? button. Player 1 will then be required to press the “Trade!?? button. The ability to succeed at a trade will be dependent upon the values of each image and to which set it belongs. Trades will be weighted so that images within a set will have a higher probability of succeeding. Trades will be weighted so that images of a higher point value will have a higher probability of succeeding. Trades between the same image will always succeed. Upon a successful trade, Player 1 will be displayed a Congratulations on a Successful Trade message with their active images below this. The swapped images will show up in each player’s active images. Points will be awarded to Player 1 equal to 10% of the traded image’s value. Both players will be awarded tokens equal to 1% of the traded image’s value. Player 1’s new image will be protected from other trades for 5 minutes. During this time, no other player will be able to trade for the image. However, Player 1 will be able to use the image immediately. While the image is protected, it will have an transparent overlay to visually signify that it is unavailable to other players. Player 2 will have the new image protected for 24 hours or until their next login to the application; whichever comes first. During this time, no other player will be able to trade for the image. While the image is protected, it will have an transparent overlay to visually signify that it is unavailable to other players. Trading Area Players are able to put images up for trade with specifics on what they’d like to receive in return. The trade may be for an image (of any value) only, tokens only or a combo of both. The Trading Area shows three options: View My Active Trades, Initiate a New Trade and Search for Active Trades. To initiate a trade, a player (hereafter called Player 3) selects the Initiate A New Trade link. Player 3’s active images are then displayed with a “Trade?? button. Player 3 selects the image they wish to trade and the presses the “Trade?? button. This button will not be clickable until after Player 3 has selected an image to trade. They will then be taken to the Trading page to specify what they want in return. A radio button selection with options for “Request an Image??, “Request Payment?? and “Request Both?? is at the top of the Trading page. No other information is displayed on the page until the player selects one of the options. If they wish to receive an image only, they will drill-down through a dynamic menu. Both active and retired sets will be listed alphabetically under separate headings. The images will appear dynamically to the right of the menu listing as each image is rolled over in the menu. The player will click on the image’s name in the menu to select it. If they wish to receive payment only, an input box where the player can type in the number of tokens they wish to receive will be displayed. If they wish to receive both an image and payment, then both areas will be displayed. A “Trade?? button will take the player to the trade confirmation page. On the trade confirmation page, the player will be presented with their offer and request. They will need to press the “Confirm Trade?? button in order to initiate the trade. Once the trade is confirmed, the player’s image that was offered in the trade will have an overlay “Up For Trade?? when displayed in their active images. This will visually confirm to all players that the image is unavailable to them at this time. They will also be returned to their Home Page. Any player may have up to 5 trade offers active at any time. As long as a trade has not been successfully completed, the player may cancel the trade. This will be achieved by going to the Trading Area and clicking on the View My Active Trades link. This page will display the current offers the player has created and have a “Cancel this Trade Offer?? button next to each item. Trades offered do not expire. Search for Active Trades Players are able to browse through the listings of trades requested. This is either through a chronological list of all offers (newest at the top), by images offered or by images requested. The chronological list will have each offer linked by its title, i.e. Bullseye offered for Turbo Jet + 400 coins. To list the images offered or images requested, the player will drill-drown through a dynamic menu as described in the “Initiate a New Trade?? specifications. Once an image is selected by the player, a chronological listing for that specific image with offers linked by title. Each trade offered is displayed on its own page. If the player (hereafter called Player 4) wishes to make the trade, they will select the “Make the Trade?? button. The application needs to verify that Player 4 has the request image and/or tokens available to them. Upon a successful trade, the new image/tokens will show up both Player 3 and Player 4’s respective active playing area. This trade will also be listed in both player’s Trade History. If the trade is unsuccessful; either due to Player 4 not meeting the trade requirements, Player 3 canceling the trade offer or another player completes the trade first; then the application will display a page informing Player 4 that the trade was unsuccessful for that reason. Player 4 will receive points equal to 10% of the image they receive. No tokens in addition to the traded amount will be awarded for this type of trade. If Player 3 received an image from the trade, that image will be unavailable for other trades for 24 hours or until the next time Player 3 logs into the application; whichever comes first. If Player 4 received an image from the trade, that image will be unavailable to other players for a period of 5 minutes. However, Player 4 will be able to use the image for playing the game immediately. While the image is protected, it will have an transparent overlay to show that it is currently unavailable. Active Playing Area + Trading Area On all of the pages contained within these areas, a player will have a translucent dynamic area that will slide out from the right. It will display the player’s uncompleted sets by name. The player may click on a set’s name to view thumbnails of the images of that set. Any images previously saved will be displayed as standard thumbnails. Any images that are yet to be stored will be displayed as an alternative thumbnail. This is to assist players in understanding which images they require to complete a set. ChitChat (Home Page + Active Playing Area) When a player is viewing their own active images, they will have available a translucent dynamic area that will slide out from the right. This area is titled “ChitChat??. It will show messages left for them by their friends. Next to each message will be a small “delete?? link. There will also be an input box where they can leave messages on their own ChitChat. When a player is viewing one of their friend’s active images, the ChitChat will display the friend’s messages. There will be an input box where they can leave messages for their friend. Additionally, a checkbox labeled “private?? will be next to the input box. Messages labeled as private may be viewed by the author and receiving player only. A player may delete any message they wrote and any message left in their own ChitChat area. Combination images (CI) These are special images created by adding other images together. Each set will have at least one CI. Players will need to guess as to what images to try together in order to make the combination image. Three or more images will be needed to create a new image. On the home page, a player’s active images will be displayed. While on this page, they may select any number of images from a given set. This is done by clicking on at least three images from their active ones. They will then click on “Try This Combo?? button that appears when at least three images are selected. If unsuccessful, a message will be displayed to that effect. If successful, the images used to make the new one are removed from the player’s active images and the new CI is placed into the player’s active images. Leveling points and tokens will be awarded at a rate of 10% of the combination image’s value. High level CIs may be created from lower level CIs or lower level CIs and standard images. Golden images Special images awarded for inviting friends or awarded at random. These images will be either active or retired like normal images. They will be either tradable images or images that can be redeemed for tokens. If they do not have an available space, then application will award the Golden Image as soon as a space is available. If the image is worth tokens: There will be a link “Redeem?? under the image image in the player’s active images. The value of tokens to be awarded will be displayed on the image. This image may NOT be traded. If the image is a tradable image: It will be a member of an active set. However, this bonus image will not be necessary to store in order to be eligible to complete a set and download the related images. If it is stored (with at least 4 other images from the set) AND the set is then/has been completed, then that image will be available in the download file. In other words, for each Golden Image added to a stored set, the download link will change to a file that includes the Golden Image. There will be no more than one Golden Image per set. The random component will be based upon how active a player is within the game. Each player will have a number randomly generated and associated with their account. When that number of trades is reached, a Golden Image will appear in their active images. If they do not have an available space, then the Golden Image will appear as soon as a space is available. No more than one Golden Image per day shall be given to any one player. Golden Images shall not be awarded to Automated Players nor shall they be tradable with an Automated Players active images. These are special and should only be traded between human players. Automated Players Each new player will immediately have a number of automated players (AP) included in their “Let them In?? listing. The APs cannot be switched to “Keep them Out??. The AP will not be able to initiate trades. Players will be able to trade for images held in the AP’s active images. As many players will be trying to trade with the APs at one time, any unsuccessful trades will result in a notification to the player. The AP’s current pack will be re-displayed with the notification. Successful trades will initiate the same sequence as described under Active Playing Area. The APs will have their packs determined by the trades made by players. However, if any single image reaches a number of 5 or more within an AP’s active images, those 5 images shall be reduced to one entry. The remaining spaces in the AP’s active images will be replaced by other images. These images will be randomly chosen from the non-Combination Images and non-Golden Images. Invite Friends This will be the standard invitation seen on most Facebook applications. Golden Images will be awarded to each player who invites 10 friends. One Golden Image will also be awarded for each invited friend who installs the application. A record of previous installs should be kept to prevent abuse of the system. Trade History A listing of every trade and purchase related to a player. Trades will list what was traded and the values of the respective images. Whether the trade was through the Trading Area or the Active Playing Area is irrelevant for this history. If the trade was for tokens, that amount will be noted. Dates and times of the trade will be shown for periods that are more than 24 hours past. Otherwise, the date will be omitted and the time will state “X hours ago,?? or “X minutes ago,?? followed by the activity description. Purchases will be dated in the same manner. However, only the image purchased will be mentioned. A thumbnail of each image will be placed to the left of the description. For purchases, this thumbnail will be of the image purchased. For trades, the image removed from the player’s active images will be at the left and the image received will be at the right of a double-headed arrow. The purchase icon needs to align under the image received for ease of understanding by the player. As players develop history, only the current 20 activity items will be displayed. After reaching that limit, the player will need to click on numbered navigation to view earlier dates. Please review the small changes in wording (not project scope) for the Bid Request. Additionally, I understand if this would cause you to change or withdraw your bid. I appreciate your understand with this important decision. Thank you, Julie
