You gave me advise on a project I posted a couple of months ago. You did not place a bid on the project.
I appreciate your advise on the size change for images but I couldn't quite grasp what to do so I hired a programmer to do the work.
I have read through your introduction profile and you state at the end that you are a professional who only works with professionals. I have one dilema and you may disregard me, I am definately not a professional when it comes to the internet, business and programming. That is why I am looking for a professional.
I recognise that you are indeed an expert, as I recently chose to transfer my zencart shop to a free template that you designed. Sophy. I paid a programmer to do this and a problem occurred with display as the graphics and wording looked distorted. It did not however look distorted when I viewed the example template. I had no reasoning for this from my programmer so I asked her to resort back to the original template. She complied without and further communication on why the page was distorted and verified that she would have to add some modules to the original template. I may add here that I have a 64bit wide screen computer. She has now added something because the work she has done looks fine on my ipad, my phone and my husbands computer but the site is now again distorted on my wide screen. No other sites that I see look distorted, so other programmers know something my programmer does not. What I don't understand is that she was working on [url removed, login to view] and was to upload to www.earthssake.com.au. But they are both now distorted. I am now wondering if it is the same problem that was presented with the original Sophy template upload.
Unfortunately the programmer has not communicated with me since I notified her of this problem three days ago. I must admit communication with her has been difficult at times. I have asked for more work to be done and quotes but she has not responed. This supposedly small update has now carried on for a few weeks now.
I also asked her for advise on the site and she put forward some suggestions.
She wrote “I suggest seo urls which will give the better visibility of the cart on the search engines and the light box effect on the images.”
I did ask what seo urls meant but she did not reply and I paid her to go ahead with the suggestions. That's when she suggested I update my cart to 5.1 which I think she did and she asked me to choose a new template.
I hope I have not confused you yet.
She then said she was submitting my site to google feeds and asked me to identify the categories. Well, google feed did not have a category for recycled products or new age work or worm castings. She then told me I could only submit one category. The programmer has submitted my product to the google feeds, but the google feed reports are indicating that there are errors in every submission.
I am wondering if I will have to move all the different main categories to new individual sites one day due to marketing through google feeds but I honestly don't know what I am doing with the marketing other than facebook, so I will need advise on marketing too. I am hearing on LinkedInn that google is changing their search criteria soon.
So now I am stuck with a distorted page, a non-communicative paid for programmer, a mess with google feeds, and I have no idea what is going on with my site. I am wondering what I have done wrong.
If you are interested-
Can you please forward a suggestion to rectify my problem here
If you need payment for this suggested strategy please quote me
and a quote along with it to do whatever it is that you suggest.
Here is a list of future work that will need done and please quote if you are interested
1. Checking that Paypal works and the logo graphics and communication details on receipts are in order.
2. Making sure that the purchaser can view postage amounts on items before getting into paypal. At the moment, you only find out how much postage is when you get all the way to paypal.
3. Uploading a free audio. I believe you get the customer to sign in as a client and then they can download the free audio. Or can the free audio be available when they hit the page.
4. Upload and make available for download a video series that I am in the process of composing. This series will be a sale item.
5. I have another 2 free projects that I would like to make available. One is how to build a worm farm out of recycled material and the other is how to make a shopping bag out of a singlet. I am not sure whether these should be on display for free or whether you have to sign up as a member to get the information.
You see ideasgirl, I am not sure how to go about doing everything and I need someone who can communicate clearly on what I should be doing, why I should be doing it and quoting on how much it will cost me.
Thank you for your time and consideration
for the love of all
