This project is our first step in finding a top notch Rails developer we can count on. This project is simple and easy, but we want to use it to verify the skills of the person we hire to work on a larger project that we have in progress. This project is a website designed to display quotes. Quotes are displayed on the home page in a stylish manner . There is a search box that searches through quotes. See mock-up graphics attached. There is an administrative interface where the "admin" can log in and add/edit/delete quotes, add and delete users, etc. Users must be able to log into the site, create user account, and all quotes must be tagged using the acts_as_taggable plugin for rails. The site does not necessarily have to use Ajax helpers. We want it to be search-engine indexable, but Ajax helpers can be used to enhance the User Interface in some places. There must not be any scaffolds used. There must be a simple CSS sheet that can be used to control the look and feel. We're going for a clean, web 2.0 look, so no graphic design will be necessary. The site must not be written using nested tables. It must use semantic HTML (h1, b, i, etc., for important stuff) and css positioned elements for styling. The site must use the em unit of measurement to make it look the same on all monitors regardless of screen resolution (depending on font size)... We will provide a graphical mock-up of the basic idea we have for the main screens (attached). These mock-ups should provide an idea of what we want the site to look like. We pay big bonuses for great work. We are looking for a clever programmer who is efficient and highly productive with Rails.
