**HttpHandler needed to stream linearized PDF files from SQL FileImage field**
We have several versions of an HttpHandler to stream files from a SQL Server FileImage (BLOB) in a SQL record to a web browser. The existing code works to quickly send the files to the browser. However, we have a problem with large linearized PDF files not quickly displaying the first page; even though the files are linearized they are not displaying until the entire file is downloaded.
The file based system worked fine before we switched to using the HttpHandler, the only difference on the wire appears to be that for file based PDFs IIS is sending headers (detailed in attachment).
The differences between what IIS sends for file based PDFs and what we are sending in our HttpHandler are included in the attachment also, along with two test cases that are close to working but something in the headers is clearly incorrect.
The working code for streaming from the SQL FileImage is also attached in the “FileImage?? case of the ProcessRequest()subroutine. It’s this code that needs to be working with byteranges.
The deliverable for this project will be code that we can use to replace our existing code, and that will effectively stream the pdf file to the client.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
