Palm Survey

We would like to run surveys on palm and pocket pc devices. Answers will be uploaded to an access database at a remote location via wired/wireless modem by direct dialing or over the internet. ## Deliverables Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details. Also I'd like to mention that since this is going to be the first and the testing version of the software I've excluded many features to save time and money. Purpose of the project: We would like to run surveys on Palm Os handhelds and transfer the survey results to a remote server by direct dialing or over the internet. Scenario: Our sales representatives take the palm handhelds when they go out to visit our clients. After they enter their user name and the password to start the survey, they hand over the palm handhelds to clients. The clients answer the survey questions and as soon as they finish the survey, the answers,survey date&time, client ID and our representative's name are recorded to palm's database. Clients return t he handhelds back to our representatives. This procedure is repeated several times throughout the day and at the end of the day the handheld in the craddle will automatically start synchronization and upload the data to a remote server. Requirements: 1-This application should run on Palm OS handhelds 2-We would like to use handhelds just for surveying, so the application should start as soon as the handheld is turned on and it should take over the device so that all the other applications like calender on the handheld will be inaccessable. (hard buttons on the handheld should be disabled) 3-On the palm side of the software there will be Admin screen and the survey screen. Survey screen: There are about 30 fixed questions in the survey. The answers are in multiple choice and pull-down menu format. Admin screen: This screen will be used to add remove users (our representatives) and adjust a few other settings. 4-The server side of t he software will let multiple users connect and synchronize with the server at the same time. The survey results will be recorded to an access database. The connection will be made by direct dialing to the server. Connecting over the internet will be optional. 5-synchronization: The palm will start synchronization process automatically in a given time [login to view URL] synchronization time frame will be downloaded from the server during synchronization.. There will be an option to start synchronization in the admin screen. 6-One in every x number of surveys, a promotional message will pop-up during the survey. X will be defined in the admin screen.
