Membership system

1. Basic php username/password login system. This is for an online training site. Somewhere around 100 students will need individual usernames and passwords to access content. Ideally, we'd like to incorporate the username and password generation into the existing registration form, so the user can choose their own when they register. There will be two or at most three levels of user permissions. Level one will allow "subscribers" to access materials in a password protected library. Level two will allow "students" to both access the library, and in addition, other pages that provide course instruction, including a message board. Level three, if we use it, would simply allow universal access to library, course pages, and an extra directory of pages for an augmented course. We'd like one level of admin permissions to view and change student permissions. 2. Online Test Form We want to conduct a timed 90-minute essay test for this course. There are two ways to conceivably handle the essay: a) The essay is conducted entirely online in a large text area form. (Size limitations?). For this to work, users would need to login to a page which would automatically set a 90-minute timer. (Ideally, it would be nice to put a countdown clock on the page.) Once the clock counted down to 0, the page would automatically be submitted, unless it had already been submitted by the user. b) The user logs in and gets the clock, but instead of completing the test in a form, they can complete the essay in a word document, and upload the .doc at the end of ninety minutes with an upload utility. In this scenario, we should allow upload even after the ninety minutes, but with a timestamp showing the elapsed time. This will allow for any difficulties saving and uploading the file. ## Deliverables Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details. Should a dispute arise and this project go into arbitration "as is", the contract's vagueness might cause it to be interpreted against you, even though you were acting in good-faith. So for your protection, if you are interested in this project, please work-out and document the requirements onsite. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform We're running a Unix/myphp platform. Need basic compatibility for most modern browsers.
