Dear all, Hi there. I am handicapped by this project entitled ‘Colour-based Image Retrieval’. The submission date is on 21.04.03. My preliminary interpretation of the project requirements is as follows, although I am not sure whether it is feasible to implement as such in real computing terms. 1. Store 100-500 coloured photographs in a repository, to be retrieved by the clients by clicking on the icons on the graphical interface. 2. Extract the distribution and percentage of the coloured components of the images by gathering either RGB image statistics or HIS image statistics, and store these data in a file as input stream (there may be a better alternative). 3. The user pulls down the category menu to select a broad keyword category, e.g. cats; and then he can then go to a palette to select the colours that he visualizes will appear in the photo. I have the source code for a Java applet that displays the colour after the user has input his colour combination. 4. Photos that correspond to the user’s requirements will be shown on the screen, say 10 thumbnails at a time, he will pick and reject some of them. The mechanism behind will perform the Relevance Feedback Techniques (which are implemented by the mathematical algorithms shown in Section 6 that I sent you) to refine the searches. Every time the photo is selected or rejected, a certain probability of resemblance to queries will be calculated, and the Quinlan ID3 Decision Tree can be used to categorize the photos into the relevant and irrelevant sets, until the exact or next closest image is located. 5. Ideally, the interface can accommodate keyword, colour, texture and shape search parameters. But due to time constraints, I will be satisfied with only the keyword and colour search parameters. If you think you can add all the parameters, do tell me about it. 6. The prototype is ideally an online model. (optional). 7. You may emulate the features found in commercial version like QBIC, Blobworl.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) The buyer will have the sole ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. The coder's name should not appear in the program (my sincere apologies). 4) Everything pertaining to the project must be complete and delivered to me on or before 21.04.03. 5) A technical report of the various modul and important reminders of its functionality should be attached.
Preferably Windows 2000 (open for discussion) Programming languages are flexible, but please tell me earlier so that I can get the softwares ready.
