We are moving a site from one web host to another (Windows 2003 shared hosting). We have moved the HTML content, which is working fine. However, a small part of the site uses ASP files and a database, and this isn't working. We assume that this has to do with the need to set up a proper database connection. We didn't develop the original site. We need a coder familiar with ASP, ASP.Net, MSSQL, and MSAccess who can look at the code, determine what needs to be done to make the database work at the new host, and make the code changes needed (if any). If it is a server configuration issue, we need to know what to request from the web host (shared hosting environment).
The other part of the task is to install an ASP login script to password protect a directory. Previously, the directory was set up with a separate username at the server level, but the shared hosting arrangement doesn't currently allow that. We have already downloaded ASPLogin, but the coder is welcome to select another open source or freeware login script. The area protected doesn't need high security - this is just a precaution to keep random bots and web surfers out.
Part 1 - make current ASP pages connect to database and work properly (working now on old host)
Part 2 - password protect one directory using ASP script
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment (new server).
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
4) Need to document database connection informaton and procedure for changing/adding username & password for protected directory.
Windows 2003 Server, ASP, MSAccess and/or MSSQL.
