Goal is to convert current Flash web component into HTML5 version so that it works on tablet devices including iPad. This is a very small project and a previous freelancer was able to complete the Flash component from scratch for between $250 and $750 AUD.
Freelancers with tertiary qualifications in a computer science related degree will have an advantage. You must love HTML5 and completing projects to a high standard. You must also know the benefits and drawbacks of HTML5.
The project has several phases that mark key decision points and payments. If the Freelancer fails to meet expectations at each Phase, the project will be terminated and re-posted after all reasonable attempts are made to keep the project on track.
Phase 1. Initial assessment. The freelancer will review the Flash component and advise their level of experience with similar work, how easy they believe it will be to convert the component to HTML5. At this stage the freelancer will provide an upper-level and lower-level time to completion estimate. i.e. the probability they are likely to have the project completed between X and Y days. For example, 95% sure to be complete between 30 and 40 days etc. The freelancer is also required to list potential hazards to project completion and assess the risks associated with those hazards in terms of time, cost and quality of finished product.
At this stage it is recommended you request to decline the project if it looks like a project you do not want to work on. Only freelancers that really want the project should proceed to Phase 2.
Phase 2. Development and testing. The freelancer will perform the actual conversion and make available a link to review work progress according to the agreed schedule from Phase 1.
Phase 3. Production Acceptance. At this point the freelancer should be 99% confident the work is free from defects and meets all stated requirements. We will then expose the HTML5 component to end-user testing and make an assessment on whether the component can be used in the live system. The freelancer will need to resolve any issues that arise during this phase within the original scope of the project. i.e. new features and enhancements will require new estimates and cost adjustments etc. Phase 3 will be repeated until the component is ready for use.
Phase 4. Once the HTML5 component is deemed ready for production use by our end-user testing team, the project will be considered complete and payments will be finalized.
