We are looking for an experienced PCB designer to complete an ongoing KiCad project. The board is currently designed as a 4-layer PCB (with the possibility of moving to 6 layers if needed to improve routing quality and signal integrity). The schematic is complete in KiCad, and most components are already placed. Project details: Board dimensions are currently 200mm x 30mm. The length (200mm side) can be extended slightly if necessary to improve routing or layer organization. Approximately 300 components. The design contains 5 identical functional blocks arranged in a 1x5 matrix. Nearly all components are placed on one layer, except for some connectors and a few additional parts. Routing has been started, but around 60 connections remain incomplete. We are not satisfied with the current routing quality and may require partial or full rerouting. Transitioning to a 6-layer stack-up is an option if it improves layout quality. We will provide clear placement instructions, including guidance on where specific components must be located. Manufacturing requirements: The final PCB must be fully manufacturable by JLCPCB. The design must comply with JLCPCB’s minimum and maximum manufacturing constraints (trace width/spacing, vias, drill sizes, annular rings, copper thickness, stack-up limits, etc.). The final output must pass DRC without major errors and be ready for Gerber generation according to JLCPCB standards. Scope of work: Review the existing layout. Improve or redo routing as needed. Optimize layer stack if necessary (4 to 6 layers). Complete all connections. Ensure full DRC compliance. Deliver production-ready manufacturing files. Experience with high-component-density, multi-layer boards and designing specifically for JLCPCB manufacturing standards is highly valued.
