Energy Drink Formulation Development

We are seeking an experienced Beverage Formulator / Food Scientist to develop a commercial-grade energy drink formulation from concept to pilot stage. This role focuses on creating a product that delivers effective energy, great taste, and regulatory compliance. This is a project-based engagement with the potential for long-term collaboration as the product scales. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Develop a complete energy drink formulation (ingredients, ratios, functionality) • Recommend and optimize energy-enhancing ingredients (caffeine sources, amino acids, vitamins, etc.) • Balance taste, mouthfeel, stability, and effectiveness • Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations and relevant food safety standards • Provide guidance on preservation, shelf life, and storage • Support pilot batch development and scale-up readiness • Assist with nutritional labeling inputs and documentation ⸻ Required Qualifications • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related field • Proven experience in beverage formulation, preferably energy or functional drinks • Strong understanding of ingredient interactions and stability • Knowledge of Indian food regulations (FSSAI) is strongly preferred • Ability to work independently and deliver clear documentation ⸻ Preferred Experience • Prior work on energy drinks, sports drinks, or functional beverages • Experience supporting startup or new product launches • Familiarity with contract manufacturing processes • Experience with both powder and liquid beverage formats (a plus) ⸻ Deliverables • Detailed formulation recipe and ingredient specifications • Process and preparation guidelines • Shelf-life and preservation recommendations • Regulatory and labeling considerations ⸻ Engagement Type • Contract / Freelance / Consulting • Remote collaboration • Flexible timeline based on scope ⸻ Compensation • Competitive and negotiable based on experience and scope
