I'm looking to hire for an opentok integration test, since I'm not sure if opentok will work for my use case or not. I need an opentalk livestream to behave the same way as a YouTube embedded livestream. This is for the mobile web.
The reason YouTube is not a fit is the latency, otherwise the iframe embed and other features of YouTube livestream embed are perfect (plays inline, etc.). I'm hoping opentok will offer the same functionality without the latency.
UX is = user visits site, user presses play on the livestream, stream runs. No sign-in required, and this works for all users on site.
I see in opentok docs that they have 2 products "live interactive video" and "live streamming"
[url removed, login to view]
Live Interactive Video - Real-time
Live Streaming - 15-20 seconds
I would need the first, since I need low latency. There will be under 100 connections. So to sum up:
1) Implement opentok standard routed connection on any site (I can supply whatever hosting or VPS is needed)
2) I will embed that stream as a iframe on an existing site.
3) Make sure there is no sign up required to view the stream, plays inline and basically mimics YouTube livestream embed.
It will be one to many, audio and video, with "many" never exceeding 100. It will be one way, like a TV broadcast, not two way.
First I'm not sure this is dobale, if it is I'd like a quote to setup this test, with further work to develop a more detailed system if the test works. Thanks
Would appear the iframe is quite simple, so that is the route I would go
<iframe src="https://tokbox.com/embed/embed/ot-embed.js?embedId=[YOUR EMBED ID]&iframe=true&room=DEFAULT">
I would require the broadcast be setup on any host and supply me the emebd code as above with featured described above enabled
