LAN-Based Attendance Monitoring System for Marella Christianne Institute, Cavite

Objectives of the Study The proposed system aims to develop a Student Attendance Monitoring System that would automatically record the student’s attendance through scanning their I.D. code to the barcode scanner. The current system of the school in monitoring the student attendance relies to the security personnel and the log book. When the student fails to come on time or the staff assigned to check on the attendance unable to do his part correctly it can be possible that inaccuracy to the attendance sheet arise. But, with the proposed system it gives more efficient record, data consistency, error free, quality service and easy monitoring of the attendance of all students. With the proposed system the following improvements can enhance the current system of the school. a) To consume less of time in monitoring and recording the student attendance: Provide lesser time to record the attendance by using a barcode scanner that automatically sends student’s information arrival time to the administrators’ database. b) Easier to track down the tardiness and absent of the student: Can easily monitor the number of late and absences of the student and can be seen to the systems table. c) The database is secure from losing its student attendance data and information: It secures the record of the student attendance in case of loss because the system will have its own backup and recovery that can be updated daily. d) The database secures the records from being tampered or erased: The record of all student’s attendance is secured by the username and password and can be access only by the administrator or the guidance.
