Another example would be to setup a Hotel Reservation System, whereby Microsoft Access stores the room and customer details, while Microsoft Excel is used to structure, maintain and analyse all of the hotel charges incurred by the customer. Your information system should provide a service to the business you have chosen.
The Excel element of this project should be professionally formatted demonstrating data management via calculations applying absolute, relative and mixed cell referencing principles across a maximum of two worksheets that demonstrate the following skill set:
• Examples of BASIC FUNCTIONS (Sum, Count, Min, Max & Average) and their application with Logical Criteria applied:
Example of COUNTIF and COUNTIFS.
Example of SUMIF and SUMIFS.
Example of AVERAGEIF and AVERAGEIFS.
A cell reference and the Criteria used as the basis for the logical construction of each of the "Basic Functions” and a label describing the resulting cell contents MUST be provided to enable your lecturer make assessment against the submitted functions. Failure to provide these details within the Information System Documentation File (See section 184.108.40.206) will result in no marks being awarded.
• Example of PIVOT TABLE and Professional use of CHARTS.
• Examples of BASIC IF STATEMENTS and NESTED IF STATEMENTS (Single, & Multiple Test Criteria). A cell Reference and the Criteria used as the logical basis for constructing each of the "if statements” and the related value for entry MUST be provided to enable your lecturer make assessment against the submitted functions. Failure to provide these details within the Information System Documentation File (See section 220.127.116.11) will result in no marks being awarded.
• Examples of LOOKUPs (Both Vertical & Horizontal).
