# Astrology Domain Expert / Logic & Calculation QA for Multi-System Astrology App ## Project Overview We have developed an AI-powered astrology application that supports multiple systems of astrology and divination, including: * Vedic Astrology / Jyotish * Western Astrology * Chinese Astrology / BaZi * Numerology * Tarot We are looking for an **Astrology Domain Expert, Astrology Researcher, or team of specialists** who can independently test and validate the **astrological logic, calculations, rules, and resulting interpretations produced by our application**. ### Important: This is NOT normal software QA We are **not primarily looking for testing of login, UI, payments, responsiveness, crashes, APIs, performance, or other standard software functionality.** We already handle conventional software QA separately. The purpose of this project is to determine: **Is the astrology produced by our application actually correct according to the rules and calculations of the respective astrological system?** --- # What We Need Tested The selected expert/team will receive access to our application and test cases. For each test, we want the expert to independently determine the correct astrological result and compare it with the result generated by our system. The work should identify errors at different levels: **Input → Astronomical Calculation → Astrological Calculation → Astrology Rules → Interpretation → AI-Generated Answer** We need to know not only that an answer is wrong, but **why it is wrong and at which stage the error occurred.** --- ## 1. Western Astrology Testing may include: * Tropical planetary positions * Ascendant and Midheaven * House calculations * House systems * Aspects * Aspect orbs * Retrogrades * Planetary dignities * Natal chart logic * Transits * Progressions where applicable * Synastry/compatibility * Interpretation rules --- ## 3. Chinese Astrology / BaZi Testing may include: * Four Pillars calculations * Year, Month, Day and Hour Pillars * Heavenly Stems * Earthly Branches * Five Elements * Yin/Yang relationships * Ten Gods * Hidden Stems * Luck Pillars * Calendar/time conversion * Element balance * Relationship between calculated elements * Interpretation logic --- ## 4. Numerology Testing should verify both calculations and interpretation logic, including where applicable: * Life Path * Destiny/Expression * Soul Urge * Personality * Birthday numbers * Name calculations * Master numbers * Personal Year/Month/Day * Compatibility * Other numerological calculations used by our application The tester should identify the numerological methodology being applied and verify that the system follows it consistently. --- ## 5. Tarot This is less about astronomical calculation and more about validating the logic used by the application. Testing may include: * Correct card identification * Upright/reversed meanings where applicable * Spread positions * Meaning of cards according to position * Card combinations * Contextual interpretation * Consistency between cards drawn and interpretation * Whether the AI introduces information unsupported by the cards * Whether the final answer contradicts the cards or spread --- # Example of the Testing We Expect Suppose we provide: **Date of Birth:** 15 August 1990 **Time:** 14:35 **Place:** Mumbai, India Our application produces a chart and an interpretation. We do NOT simply want the tester to say: **PASS / FAIL** We want something similar to: **Application result:** Moon = X position **Independent calculation:** Moon = Y position **Result:** FAIL **Reason:** Incorrect calculation **Expected calculation:** [correct value] **Reference/methodology:** [source/calculation method] Or: **Calculation:** Correct **Astrological rule:** Correct **Interpretation:** Incorrect **Reason:** The interpretation states X, but according to the relevant astrological rule, this combination should be interpreted as Y because [explanation/reference]. This distinction is extremely important to us. --- # Test Cases We would like the expert/team to help create a **Golden Astrology Test Dataset**. This should contain a large number of known test cases covering normal cases as well as difficult boundary conditions. Examples include: * Ascendant changing within minutes * Planet changing sign * Nakshatra/Pada boundaries * Dasha transitions * Retrograde/direct transitions * Midnight/date transitions * Different time zones * Daylight Saving Time * Leap years * High-latitude locations * House cusp boundaries * Aspect-orb boundaries * Chinese calendar boundaries * BaZi hour/day/month/year transitions * Numerology edge cases Each case should contain: **Input → Expected Result → Application Result → PASS/FAIL → Explanation → Reference** The final dataset should be reusable for regression testing whenever we modify our astrology engine. --- # AI Interpretation Validation Our application also uses AI to explain astrological results. Therefore, another important part of the project is determining whether the AI's response is **grounded in the actual astrological data calculated by the system**. We want errors classified separately as: **1. Astronomical/calculation error** The underlying calculated position/value is wrong. **2. Astrology-rule error** The calculation is correct but the astrological rule has been applied incorrectly. **3. Interpretation error** The correct astrological information is available, but the interpretation is inconsistent with the relevant astrology system. **4. AI grounding/hallucination error** The AI mentions planets, houses, aspects, cards, numbers, combinations or events that are not supported by the actual calculated data. **5. Methodology disagreement** The result differs because another legitimate school or methodology uses a different rule. These should NOT automatically be classified as bugs. The tester should explain the methodological difference. --- # Who We Are Looking For We understand that it may be unrealistic for one person to be an expert in all five systems. Therefore, we are open to: * One highly qualified multi-system astrology expert * Multiple specialists working together * An astrology institute/research group * A lead astrology researcher coordinating specialists * Experienced professional astrologers with strong technical/calculation knowledge We would rather hire **several genuine specialists** than one person claiming expertise in every system. --- # Required Experience Applicants should have substantial expertise in at least one of: **Vedic Astrology / Western Astrology / Chinese Astrology (BaZi) / Numerology / Tarot** Please specify exactly which systems you are qualified to validate. Knowledge of software QA is helpful but **not mandatory**. Deep knowledge of the astrology system is more important.
