Set Word Draft View Default

I’m on Word 2021 and, until recently, every document opened in Draft view automatically. After changing something by accident, everything now appears in Print Layout and the usual fixes have failed. I already went into Word Options, tried the view-related settings under Advanced, and confirmed the change there, but the next time I launch Word it still reverts to Print Layout. Using the View tab didn’t help either. What I need is clear, step-by-step guidance—or a quick remote walkthrough if that’s faster—that will lock Draft view in as the default for every document, new or existing, the moment Word starts. Once I can close and reopen Word and see Draft view come up reliably, I’ll consider the job done.
