Need Microsoft Access database created (simple)

Need Microsoft Access database created. Primary purpose is to record the communications or meetings had with each customer. I have a list of contacts, from various companies (“Clients”), and will be emailing, calling and meeting with them to try and sell them something. I need to record each communication and what the next steps should be.

Order of priority to me is:

1. Who the company is (this is the IMPORTANT FACTOR in each table)

2. Who are the contacts at each company (there may be more than one)

3. How and when has each contact been communicated with

4. What result/happened with the communication

5. What the next steps are in communicating with them again

I have been using Excel but it is getting ugly and is slow to read. I would expect three tables/forms but am happy to have more: (i) Clients (a list of the companies), (ii) Contacts (a list of the contacts which relate to each client), and (iii) Meetings/communications. Relationships/Lookups will need to be included.

(i) Clients

• Name of client

• Whether they’ve been contacted (yes/no)

• Type of client (Law Firm, Bank or Corporate) – only three options

• Related Contacts (from (ii) Contacts, below)

• Related Meeting/comms had (from (iii) Meetings/Communications, below)

• url of client

(ii) Contacts

• First name

• Surname

• Client (must relate to one of the clients from (i) Clients)

• Who contact belongs to (right now there are three choices TB, GD, or NMF but this list could expand in the future)

• Job title

• Telephone

• Mobile telephone

• Email address

(iii) Meetings/communications

• Client (must relate to one of the clients from (i) Clients)

• Date of meeting/communication (UK date)

• Who from my company made the communications (right now there are three choices TB, GD, or NMF but this list could expand in the future)

• Which contact from the client was communicated with (must relate to one of the contacts from (ii) Contacts)

• Detail – what happened at the meeting/resulted from communication

• Next steps

• By when date (i.e. when the next steps should be completed by) – it would be good if this could be RAG status (i.e. Red, Amber or Green depending on whether the date has been passed, is today, or has not happened yet – this way I can quickly see what needs to be done)

Everything revolves around the client. The clients will be contacted more than once so I need the ability to add in meetings without losing the clearness/easy to read and understand nature of the table.

I don’t mind if it is designed with extra tables such as Owners or Types (to be used easily in dropdown lookups or relationships), or extra fields if useful, but please do not make too complex.
