Hi, I'm a Senior IT Support Specialist who runs Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online for 400+ users every day, so Outlook send/receive failures on an M365 mailbox are routine work for me. How I would approach it: 1) Find the real root cause first - check Outlook connectivity status, run SaRA (Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant) and the Remote Connectivity Analyzer, then review the mailbox from the Exchange admin center (quota, throttling, transport/anti-spam rules) and run a message trace on the failing messages to read the actual NDR codes. 2) Rule out the client side - start Outlook in safe mode to isolate add-in conflicts, rebuild the OST and the Outlook profile, reset Autodiscover and the cached credentials, and confirm Modern Authentication is being used. 3) Verify mail flows both ways in real time and that the Sync Issues folder stays clean afterwards. 4) Install Outlook 2016 on your 2 laptops and configure the M365 accounts. 5) Send you a short written report: root cause, the exact steps I applied so you can repeat them, and preventive recommendations. I work over AnyDesk, TeamViewer or a screen share session - whichever you are comfortable with - and I document everything I change.
