Hi this is a fairly simple project for some one who knows about PIC's I am sure. Basicly I want a program that will count pulses of a wheel rotating. ( I have the hardware sorted basicly an encoder which puts out 360 pulses per revolution)
The chip which will probably be PIC16f818 will need to be woken up by a pulse from an optical sensor and then start counting until it sees another pulse from the optical sensor. The pulses from the optical sensor will be generated by two pieces of reflective tape set apart 5000mm .At this point it needs to stop counting and calculate the number of degrees travelled in the set distance of 5000mm. Then it calculates what the rolling circumference of the wheel is and display it in mm on a 4 digit display
