Multiband excitation speech coder/Multiband excitation vocoder implementation in MATLAB:
The speech signal is segmented in frames using a hamming window and for each frame the parameters are calculated.
Encoder : speech is analysed and two parameters:
1. spectral envelope
2. excitation envelope (i.e pulse train for voiced and noise for unvoiced)
product of these parameters is called synthesised spectrum
Decoder : for voiced samples the envelope samples and fundamental freq. passed through a bank of harmonic oscillator and voiced speech is obtained
unvoiced speech weighted overlap add method used.
the voiced and unvoiced speech are then added to obtain the synthesised speech
