I need an experienced Frappe/ERPNext developer to build a dedicated laboratory-management module for my current ERPNext installation. The goal is to handle sample intake, testing workflows, results approval, and inventory usage while also letting me monitor budgets and run simple forecasting on consumables and costs. You will create a standalone app that plugs cleanly into ERPNext, defining all necessary DocTypes, role-based permissions, and custom reports. Budgeting and Forecasting should be woven into the module so that each lab project or test batch shows projected versus actual spend and upcoming resource requirements. Core tech will be the usual stack—Python, Frappe framework, ERPNext API hooks, MariaDB, and a little client-side JavaScript where it improves the UI. I already have a staging server; push your work there via Git so we can review it together. Deliverables • Installable Frappe app with all doctypes, scripts, and page builders • Budgeting & Forecasting logic tied to lab projects and items • Two custom reports (budget variance, consumption forecast) • Basic test suite plus setup/seed data so I can demo instantly I’ll consider the job complete once the app installs without errors on my production site, all listed features work as described, and the reports match sample data. If you’ve built similar ERPNext modules before, please mention them when you reply.

Hello there, I will build your Frappe lab management app covering sample intake, testing workflows, results approval, and inventory usage, with budget variance and consumption forecast reports baked into each lab project DocType. On a similar ERPNext module build, pushing daily to the client's staging repo and demoing each DocType before moving on caught permission gaps early, saving a full rework cycle. I will follow the same approach here. Questions: 1) How many distinct test types (and approval stages per test) should the workflow support at launch? 2) Do you already have item codes for your consumables in ERPNext Stock, or will those need initial setup too? Share your staging server access and I will have the first DocType committed for review within 48 hours. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Kamran

A laboratory ERP module succeeds when workflows, permissions, inventory usage, and reporting work together — not when they are just added as separate features. The key is designing a clean Frappe architecture that can scale with real lab operations. I’ll build a dedicated ERPNext/Frappe app with structured DocTypes, role-based permissions, testing workflows, inventory consumption tracking, and budget forecasting logic connected to lab projects and batches. The implementation will include custom reports for budget variance and consumption forecasting, API integration where required, Git-based deployment to your staging environment, and proper setup data for testing. I’d like to review your current ERPNext version and existing modules so I can suggest the best architecture before development begins. Do you already have any custom apps installed that this module needs to integrate with? Best, Ahtesham

Your forecasting logic will fail if you hardcode cost assumptions instead of pulling real-time pricing from your Item master and Purchase Order history. That means your budget variance report will show phantom overruns whenever supplier prices shift. Quick questions - are you planning to track reagent expiry and lot numbers within the same module? And do your lab workflows require multi-level approval chains before results get published? Here is the architectural approach: - FRAPPE FRAMEWORK: Build a standalone app with custom DocTypes for Sample Intake, Test Workflow, Results Approval, and Lab Project that inherit ERPNext's Item and Stock Entry logic to auto-track consumable usage without duplicating inventory data. - BUDGETING & FORECASTING: Create server-side Python methods that calculate projected spend by querying historical consumption rates from Stock Ledger Entry, then compare against Lab Project budgets using weighted moving averages to flag variance thresholds before you run out of reagents. - MARIADB + API HOOKS: Wire document submission triggers to update budget tables in real time and expose RESTful endpoints so your custom reports can fetch variance data without hitting performance limits during month-end closes. I've built three custom ERPNext modules for healthcare clients that handled compliance workflows and real-time cost tracking across 12 labs. Let's schedule a 20-minute call to walk through your existing DocType structure before I start coding.

Hi, I have reviewed your requirements and can develop a custom Frappe/ERPNext laboratory management module that integrates seamlessly with your existing ERPNext setup while maintaining clean architecture and future scalability. I have experience working with ERPNext customization, Frappe framework, Python, DocTypes, workflows, role permissions, API hooks, MariaDB, and custom reporting, and can build this as a standalone installable Frappe app rather than modifying core ERPNext files. My implementation approach: • Create custom DocTypes for sample intake, testing workflow, approvals, lab projects, and inventory consumption. • Configure role-based permissions for lab users, managers, and admins. • Develop budgeting & forecasting logic to track estimated vs actual costs. • Connect inventory usage with lab tests and consumable forecasting. • Build custom reports: Budget Variance Report Consumption Forecast Report • Add required client-side scripts for better UI/UX. • Push development through Git on your staging environment. • Provide setup documentation, test cases, and demo data. The solution will be developed following ERPNext best practices, ensuring easy installation, upgrades, and long-term maintainability. I can start by reviewing your current ERPNext setup and planning the module structure before development. Looking forward to discussing your workflow and building a reliable lab management solution. Best Regards, Ravi S.

Hello, I will develop the custom, standalone laboratory-management application to integrate with your ERPNext installation. I will construct the custom module using the Frappe framework, defining the required DocTypes for sample intake, test workflow stages, results logging, and manager approval gates. To manage inventory and finances, I will write Python backend hooks linking test records with standard ERPNext items, automating material consumption, and calculating projected versus actual expenditures per batch. I will implement a budgeting and forecasting dashboard with clean MariaDB SQL queries and client-side JavaScript, using role-based permissions to enforce security. Finally, I will push the entire app repository to your staging server via Git and deliver complete installation documentation. 1) Which specific version of ERPNext, such as version 15 or 16, is your production server currently running? 2) Are the forecasting and budgeting calculations based on fixed consumable lists mapped to each test type, or do they rely on historical run averages? 3) Do you require custom print templates, like PDF lab reports or sample barcode labels, to be generated from the system? Thanks, Bharat
