Power assisted gloves for elderly people. An exoskeleton glove that gives the wearer added power when undertaking tasks that would otherwise be too difficult for the person.
Tasks such as using gardening shears, opening bottles, pulling out weeds.
Inside the glove at the finger tip are two sensors. One for closing fingers and the other for opening fingers. One where the fingerprint is and the other above the finger nail. A wearer only has to press firmly on the sensor and the glove will respond. When you want the glove to stop all you have to do is relax and by reducing the pressure on the sensor the glove will stop opening or closing.
The robotic hand needs to be light and battery life should be about 2 hours of continuous use before it needs charging. It also needs to be slim so that they can still hold scissors when they are wearing the gloves.
My mum is in her 80's and she finds gardening and opening bottles too hard. I bought her powered garden shears but they are heavy and she does not like using them. There must be millions of elderly people who would benefit from something simple. Just a hand assist not the whole body.
I just want to be able to buy this for my mum. No one is selling this product so I need someone to make it so I can buy it. I am expecting to pay about $400 for this product.
