We are looking for help setting up a VPS as a WebDAV server with multiple accounts, with every user having its own directory.
We need to be able to connect to the server from multiple machines (not necessarly in the same network, so from anywhere), all running OSX.
The connection should be done using OS X's built-in functionality you access from the Finder, menu 'Go > Connect to server'.
The server will be installed on a dedicated VPS running CentOS 6.
Each user should have his own directory, created into /var/www/html, like so:
The user should have to enter a username and password in order to connect to the server, and there should be no other way to get access to the files besides using WebDAV with username/password mentioned above.
Each user should be able to view only his own files.
The user -- after logging in, should have full access to the files. Files should behave exactly like all other files on the machine running OSX (ex. no need to enter administrator password to create, edit, or delete files and folders, or anything like that).
As a plus: OSX mounts the server as a disk and places a link in the sidebar.
If possible, we would like to control the label given to the link by OSX (maybe this can be achieved by setting as server name in some Apache configuration file?).
We need a document listing all operations needed to setup such a system.
Bid is to provide this document, after having that that everything works as explained. We will provide you with a test VPS identical to the production one.
