US IPO prospectus disclosing rules and case information gatherings

Job Description:
I'm advising a company client through its IPO consideration (in US), and need some quick information about exempt or waiver of disclosure requirements of a prospectus. And the question is whether it is allowed by SEC for an IPO applicant to waive to disclose certain information as the format requires, for the reason such as business secret, state secret or others.
I will need a small summary document (1-2 pages is enough) of the following two points:
1)Relevant articles the securities regulations, listing rules or other relevant laws
2)3 or 4 cases (listed companies) that have successfully applied and adopted a waiver
