I have a self-help book, translated from Hindi into Kannada, that now needs a proofread and light edit before it heads to layout. The file is well over 90,000 words, so endurance and an eye for detail are both essential. Your core task is to remove every last bump—grammar slips, spelling errors, punctuation glitches and awkward sentence constructions—while keeping the author’s original meaning intact. The tone must stay consistently formal throughout, yet still warm and motivational in keeping with the genre. Because I am not certain whether any unintended regional variations have crept in, I will rely on you to flag and standardise vocabulary wherever necessary so the final draft reads naturally to a broad Kannada audience. I am a native Kannada Speaker, I have strong hold in both Kannada and English literature, Also I understand Hindi (Reading Writing Speaking). Worked as a Kannada teacher, taught old Kannada also for grade 7, 8, 9, 10 students, currently I teach English language in an IB school. I am a lyricist, music composer, Vocalist (Kannada, English, Hindi). Frequently we will be doing proofreading while creating the assessment sheets, but did not store the samples.
