I have an existing Java method whose if-conditions are currently too restrictive. I need those checks loosened so the method can recognise an additional input alongside the originals, while still passing all logical paths correctly. You will: • update the method implementation, keeping the overall structure intact yet widening the acceptance criteria I will specify once we start • create clean, focused JUnit 5 tests that prove the original behaviour is preserved and that the new input now succeeds • explain any edge-case handling inside the code comments so future maintenance is straightforward The codebase is plain Java SE—no external frameworks involved—so the work is limited to core Java and JUnit. I’ll share the class file and current tests (they are minimal) as soon as we kick off. Deliverables: 1. Revised .java file with relaxed conditions 2. New/updated JUnit test class covering positive and negative cases 3. Short read-me section inside the PR or zip that outlines how to run the tests (`mvn test` or `gradle test`, whichever you prefer) Please keep all changes concise, idiomatic, and well-documented. I’m ready to start right away.
