Your job will be to create a thunderbird plugin, which shows a link/button on all e-mails which contain a specific e-mail header. (like shown in the screenshot)
This button/link will only be shown if:
- the configured header is set
- the header contains a link (http:// or https:// or a different protocol)
This button has to be shown on e-mail-preview and on opened e-mail in a new window.
On click called in a default browser automatically.
The e-mail header has to be configurable, so the user can decide which header to fetch and display. The default header is: X-MailControl-ReportLink
Your work has to be provided in a git-repository - which we will share on starting - on daily basis along with a status update in issues in the git-repo-tool (gitlab)
Your work will contain also a [login to view URL] how to package the code into a fully workable plugin, which is providable to the online mozilla plugin page [login to view URL]
We need from you the full estimate with all tasks you see in: [login to view URL]
Ensure you READ EVERYTHING before asking us obvious and already answered things in this job description and in the Spreadsheet
Non discus able milestones:
MS1: code along with a installable XPI file which shows the configuration page for configuring the header. The Configuration will be stored also in the default and recommended config store of thunderbird
MS2: a working visualization of the button/link in e-mails for the configured e-mail header. This contains the code and the packaged XPI
MS3: a fully fixed and documented code basis with the description (ideally generated with a build tool) to generate the XPI file
MS4: our internal tests in the team (needs about 2 weeks)
So again recheck if you have:
- provided your first estimate as a google-spreadsheet in your application
- if your tasks are all clear what to do
- if not clear, what is unclear and what needs to be cleared
to explain more thouroughly:
if a e-mail in INBOX contains the configured header (along with the previously described restrictions)
the button/link will be shown on top of the email-body like shown in the attached screenshot
you do not need to forward, attach or anything. Only if the incomming e-mail contains the header show the link, which will be opened in the default browser
Target environment will be:
Do you need a Firefox addon?
A clear no! We need a Thunderbird Addon!
we do not disclose our budget nor our hourly rates. We have done internal estimates with our developers. So make us a offer which you would like to get. Do not forget to REREAD everything (job description and the provided documents) if you want to be considered.
