Summary / technology
=================
We need a mock-up of trading room deal inputting interface application that can be shown to a client as a demo. This should probably be done as a simple sequence of HTML pages with Javascript, with a simple but nice page design. Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked on dealing room interfaces before, that way there will be less explaining to do about what the project is all about.
Screens
======
> Login screen
fake login screen with username and password fields and a LOGIN button. Clicking on the button gets us to the main screen
> Main screen
“Enter deal” section
2 big buttons (should be graphics): BUY and SELL that will forward to deal input screen
“Recent deals” section
A hard-coded list of recent deals
> Deal input screen (BUY or SELL)
“BUY / SELL / back” section
Just graphic buttons with BUY and SELL. Depending on whether we are in BUY or SELL mode, the one or the other is selected, but the other remains active i.e. it is possible to switch from BUY to SELL. If BUY, the entire screen background becomes blue, if SELL the screen background should be orange. Also a back to main menu link.
“Type of instrument” section
A list of buttons such as CP, MTN, FRN, Eurobond. None selected at the beginning. If one is selected, some of the fields below will get greyed out.
“Deal input” section
A number of fields, some with default values, some greyed out, some dependencies (consistency check between some, some recalculated based on input of other), some filled out automatically depending on input (will be filled out with values form a database in the real application). Examples:
Trade date + timestamp
Value date
Trader (filled out automatically)
ISIN (filling this out will fill other fields)
Issuer (in case ISIN unknown or not available - with search function)
Issue date
Maturity date
Currency
Interest rate
Denomination
Quantity
Yield / discount
Gross amount
Counterparty
Dealer name
Tel number
“Settlement details” section
One drop-down and one select box, same for all
The features we need to show:
Greying out some fields depending on the Type of Instrument
Data gets filled in when an ISIN is input
If quantity does not match denomination, a warning appears (eg. If denomination is 100,000 warning appears if quantity is entered as 250,000)
Warning when a mandatory field has not been filled in
> Deal summary screen
Just a recap of the data entered, with a link “back to Main menu”
