We are developing a unique Web application which will showcase our extensive collection. A majority of the application is built, but we are seeking another developer who can help us get all the way to the end and refactor some of the existing implementation. Our original developer is available for for consultation and to help with the transition The application uses node.js, CouchDB, Solr, and jQuery.
The position is part-time and contract based. We prefer you are based in the Portland so that you can meet on-site with our team on a regular basis. However, you can perform the work from your existing office.
Required Experience
You’ve developed at least one node.js-based application that is in production today
You’ve worked with NoSQL databases and have a sound background in good schema design
You use jQuery on a regular basis but could write a JavaScript library/plugin from scratch when needed
You’re at home when it comes to integrating in HTML and CSS produced by front-end developers
Preferred
Candidates who meet the following qualifications will be given strong preference:
Local to Portland
Experience with backbone.js
Experience developing an application with complex multimedia and/or search requirements
