Port Google Map script from V2 to V3

I have a Script that uses Google Maps. It currently works great using API 2 but that is depreciated so I need to upgrade it to V3. I have ported the map to V3 but I am having some problems with getting it to work correctly as it is out of my knowledge. So I am looking to hire out fixing the two very small issues. Overview of how it's suppose to work. Here at my location we have a lightning detector which is connected to a server to process the data. The software that process this data on the server uploads a txt file to my web server. I have a php script that takes that txt files and creates a KML file to display the strikes on the Google map. I have got the map updated to V3 and I am able to plot strikes, but, it is suppose to draw range rings around the center location for the different miles from the center point and it isn't. It is also suppose to check for new data every 30 secs and show a countdown on the map then update the data on the map and I cannot get that working. So I am sure there is depreciated code that needs to be updated that is out of my knowledge. This should be a very simple project for someone who is experienced with Google Maps and JavaScript. It was written several years ago but it needs to be updated as V2 is going away. Like I said, this should be a very easy and quick fix as most of the code is already done. If you do a good job in a timely and affordable fashion I also have a couple of other small Google Map projects this could lead to.
