The project is an iPhone application that uses the in-built camera to identify 2 colored symbols in real-time and according to the symbols identified in the image load a predefined index page.
The symbols nature are 2 colored symbols (usually black and white) line symbols i.e. triangles, circles, rectangles, numbers and letters.
Simple requirement drill down + software flow:
Launch application -> load image + UI boot-up (graphics will be supplied)
The user will be welcomed by a screen with a short explanation of how to use it.
Button is pressed to open the camera mode on the iDevice i.e. the user will see the real-time camera feed.
The user will direct the camera to the location of the symbols, the software should identify the symbols once they appear on the screen of the live camera feed, without the need to “take a picture”.
Once all the symbols are identified the software should process and recognize all the symbols (while doing this the software will present a waiting video or image), this should be processed in tolerable amount of time i.e. about 1-2 seconds.
Once finished the software will present the user a pre-written explanation based on the symbols found in the image.
The database of symbols will be about 40 black and white line symbols + description of each symbols meaning.
Graphics and layout will be supplied.
The application is relatively basic with only one main function which is to identify symbols on real life camera feed.
