This outline is for a version 1.0 release of a puzzle application. The release includes the design and development of an app ready to be delivered to the appStore that can be used on iOS 3.2+ devices.
Solutions for puzzle will be provided before development. The game would have the following features:
-The game user finds a solution to the puzzle by setting the 12 pieces into the specified area without overlapping. When a solution is complete the solution will be “banked” or store into a completed puzzle database. There are over 150 puzzle solutions.
-Graphics of the 12 puzzle pieces will be provided. Game users will be able to move the graphics of the puzzle pieces with their fingers and change orientation of the puzzle pieces by finger tapping.
-A timer will track time spent solving the puzzle. When the puzzle is solved, the user will have the option to input a name or initials that will be recorded with the date stamp and time it took to complete the puzzle. The user will be able to pause the puzzle at any time to reveal several options.
These options might include:
-‘how to’ - giving instruction of how to play
-‘music/sound effects’ – users will be able to change background tracks, limit of 2-3 tracks and sound effects will be provided
-‘reset‘ - reset the current game timer and scramble the pieces
-‘records‘ - this will show the current record holders for the different puzzles
-‘credits‘ - this can be a page with links for the web site to purchase the physical version of the game as well as a place with credit the development team
The puzzle will need to conform with the Apple IOS game center platform.
Collaboration on design will be discussed by all parties (i.e. designer/developer/client) throughout for efficiency prior to and throughout the project.
Design concepts will be relayed and approved via email. After design approval, developmental build will begin.
Development will include testing of the application, giving email updates along with progress updates via video.
Developer will submit the game to Apple for approval by following the Apple Developer guidelines and will set up the appropriate console for monitoring the App once approved.
