I'm working on a project focused on the human resources and recruiting industry and need some backup research help. I need a short report written with quantitative data validation about the human resources and recruitment process. It is OK to use data from industry reports but please make sure that they are from well-known research or HR organizations (such as Robert Half, Bersin and Associates, etc.) and are referenced correctly. I see this more as a curation than a writing project. Someone who is comfortable with reading reports and pulling information then compiling into a good-quality, succinct report would work best.
The overall purpose of the report is to identify pain-points or most time-consuming problems in the hiring process of big corporations. Here's what I have in mind that I specifically need:
Steps with infographics of the human resources recruiting process in Fortune 500 US companies
Description of the tactical tasks within each step that a recruiter/HR decision maker takes to find and hire the right candidate for a position. Ideally, it will be built as sort of a funnel from the most time-consuming and painful tasks to the candidate hiring.
Identify what task within the process takes the most amount of time and is most frustrating for recruiters or HR professionals - need data validation as proof of selection
Identify the steps and processes where HR departments and recruiters spend the most money to create a better and more efficient recruiting system (think talent management software, automated talent management systems, job listing boards like Monster, etc.)
Identify how much organizations are generally spending on HR or Recruitment related services in a given year.
Evaluate how much time, money and effort are organizations spending on reviewing a huge volume of applications and resumes to find a few that are likelier to work.
Evaluate if an applicants personality fit with company culture is an important aspect of hiring and how difficult is it to evaluate that as a recruiter?
Evaluate how much time hiring managers have to waste interviewing several candidates for a position only to find that one person that will work best on the team. what is the overall cost to organizations?
My main goal of this project is to see if I can prove that the hiring process at organizations is very complex and inefficient. HR professionals and recruiters have to spend a lot of time going through many resumes to find that candidate that has both the functional and personality skills that matches the role and the company culture. Now this is my hypothesis and I need to find some data from credible reports that either proves or disproves my hypothesis.
