****** Apply only if you know what semantic HTML and architected CSS code is ********
Are you a web developer who wants to design front-end systems rather than pages? Do you write semantically and W3C correct HTML markup, ensuring accessibility and great experiences for all audience? Do you architecture, organize, and make your CSS code reusable? If you answered with 'Yes' to most (we can forgive past sins with the Dreamweaver when you "were young and needed the money"), we might be a good match.
You will be working directly with the founder (idea originator) - Product Architect and UX strategist to bring UI and interactions to life. You'll be able to rely on kick-ass full-stack developers who are building the backend and are fluent with Angular 6+ with Typescript to help you with more advanced problems. They will appreciate you taking care of creating re-usable HTML/SCSS Angular components.
We're a design-and-story-loving tech startup looking for a creative, open-minded web developer who will join us as our long-standing, go-to front-end person. For us, the design is how something works!
We work with practices and methods used by the top tech companies. You have to be open-minded to shift from “throw me the specs over the wall and let me code” approach to an open and experimental approach.
Most of the times, you will NOT get a fully fleshed out PSD to do a “pixel-perfect” implementation. We pay attention to the full UX stack, so you have to be comfortable working in grayscale, focusing on function and interactions. **Insert this line on top of your application "A User Interface is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it's not good." This will get you a bonus point. **
You will get a low-fidelity wireframe that you will want to quickly prototype in-browser, so it can be tested with real users on levels of interactions, information architecture, concept models, and anything else that we discover on the way. You will create front-end Angular components and build systems.
We don’t re-invent the wheel, so we have time and resources to spend on things that haven't been invented yet. We already own Angular UI component kits that you will use as much as possible to get us faster to where we need to be.
You need to hit the ground running with the following:
- Angular 6 with Angular CLI (at least basic understanding)
- Modular CSS architecture (SMACSS architecture and Bootstrap naming)
- Bootstrap 4+ (in Angular)
- Responsive design patterns
Areas you will have great exposure to, so you can pick them up:
- Web design with the HCD approach
- Interaction design
- Usability, and many more
For the starter, we need help with:
- Implementing Angular components
- Create demos and prototypes (in-browser) using UI components we own
- Modify existing sass files to reflect our design
Looking forward to your application!
