Data Does Good is hiring a part-time front end developer. You will lead the development of the consumer facing portion of our stack, and will work directly with both our CTO and head of product to improve the UI/UX. You will be building rich websites, a browser extension,and fully featured analytics tools.
Data Does Good, a VC-backed startup, helps people turn their personal data into cash for their favorite charity. The company started out of Stanford and is now based out of New York City. We were founded on the belief that large corporations should not be the only ones benefiting from consumer data. Rather, consumers -- the people who generate their data in the first place--should be able to share in the value of their data, and direct it where they see fit.
We are growing fast, and have been featured in press publications such as NBC News, Mashable, and Fast Company.
Candidates must be willing to commit to 20 hours of work per week for the next 3 months. Pay will be between $800-$1200 per week. The position is part-time, with the potential to come on full-time as a Lead Engineer. The role is remote, unless you live in New York City.
We have a thorough hiring process, so only seriously candidates should apply. The hiring process will be as follows:
1) Send us a sample of past work, a resume, and a brief blurb about yourself.
2) High-potential candidates will be invited for a 15 minute video chat and a small coding test
3) Final round candidates will be asked to do a larger coding project and a 30-minute interview
What We’re Looking For:
3 - 5 years experience developing and releasing production quality, user facing web applications
Familiarity/Comfort with various frontend libraries, tools, and frameworks (Angular, React, Redux, etc.)
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and communications skills
A desire to learn
A commitment to quality code and a passion for product
Full stack experience or familiarity with various backend data technologies such as Mongo DB, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.
Graphic design experience or a keen eye for design
Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
Any experience in data analytics
