We are a fun company looking to create fresh and edgy 3D and graphic designed fishing lures. The brand is called “Head-Banger” and the products are knife jigs. These fishing lures are made of metal and have free-swinging hooks. They work by being dropped beneath the boat and retrieved with a rhythmic motion that creates a vertical up and down movement that attracts fish to strike.
What we are looking for from you – 3D shape of lure and bad ass graphics.
The 3D shape of the lure creates different movement patterns in the water. We are looking for (at least) 3 unique shapes or models that we can then manufacture in 3 sizes each (long, medium, and short). Often, existing lure models are designed to be: 1) broad with shaped (usually one side flattened, and one rounded) which are designed to ‘flutter’ when the tension is off of the line; 2) skinny (usually symmetrical) for a straight high-speed retrieve; 3) somewhere in between the two. We are looking for innovative designs. These lure’s job is to go around bumping into things – and eventually convince a fish to bite (with any luck).
The graphics need to be attractive to fish and fishermen. Colors can be natural (think “fish” natural), fluorescent, metallic, and flashy – see attached for guidelines. We would love to see work that is influenced by fictional styles; we like the idea of a sort of Japanese Manga style or a street art style, or a kind of art meets science and nature thing, but really are looking for creative talent to see what cool ideas you have.
