Replit's GitHub integration writes commits fine, but it doesn't wait for CI before pushing, so if you've got branch protection rules or any kind of gate, the sync breaks silently and developers fall back to copy-paste to get unblocked. The fix is three things: configure Replit to push to feature branches instead of main, set up a GitHub Actions workflow that runs on push and gates PRs, and add branch protection rules that enforce that gate. That closes the loop so nothing lands on main without passing CI, and Replit stays the editor without becoming the bottleneck.
