Optimise facebook app (as3) plus additional features

Hi, i currently have an as3 project that has been integrated into facebook and i'm hoping to go live within a few days.

everything is working fine except for a couple of fuctions that seem to slow it down.i'm looking for an experienced optimiser to give it the once over and fix any problems that are found.

As far as i can see there are only a couple of issues that need optimising. Firstly there is a marquee that accepts upto 80 characters upto a font size of 50. This has been created in the traditional way of moving a movie clip right to left then looping. This creates a massive movieClip and i suspect that this is the reason for the app slowing down.

I have amended the as2 code originally used for the marquee. I think this would fix it but as i'm not proficient in as3 i'll need it integrating into the existing as3 unless a better alternative is offered.

here is the rewritten as2 code it stacks all the letters on top of each other then moves them when required. It then deletes them when they hit their target x(-300). then when all the letters are deleted it re-runs the function(copy and paste into flash and it will work fine):

This app is an audio-visual messaging system. It relies on blending and alpha options of xml loaded images (16 in total). CPU intensive i know!, although the images are only between 2 and 5kb each and are going to be in black and [url removed, login to view] this is the second function that needs looking at. I currently have no recommendations although the alpha and zoom effect occur onEnterFrame and maybe it would work quicker if the images are called as required and writen in a seperate function(maybe?).

I also require a couple of more facebook/paypal features.

Firstly the app is getting stuck at the logging in page on IE 8. A quick google search pointed my to:

next i need the friends list to load a profile picture and add a check box next to their name + a paypal subscribe button next to the current donation button + a like button too.
