The Program on Public Consultation is looking for a freelance web designer to create an interactive budget exercise on the U.S. defense budget. The exercise would be an interactive form that would allow users to enter their preferences under an array of categories and would track the cumulative effect of their selections. Once they complete the exercise, it would provide the user a summary of the changes they have made. They would then be able to save the summary or print it out.
It would be very similar to a previous project we had completed by a freelancer here: [url removed, login to view]
The application would track the total effect of the user's selections as they went along. Once the user is finished, the application would total the results of all their choices and present a summary chart.
There are roughly 50 items in total, although not all of them add/subtract from the running total.
The entire exercise needs to be aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. It does not have to necessarily be in Flash. It would be simple to integrate into an existing website for presentation. It would require rigorous testing by us the client and a feedback process to make necessary corrections.
The project would need to be completed in 10-14 days.
