162435 Flash Chat Application

Flash chat application is required, to provide webcam, voice and text chat for 1-2-1 communication (possibly chance of expanding into one-2-many or many-2-one at a later stage). Required skills: Flash CS3, Actionscript3, Red5 knowlege, Flex2 SDK Job Specification The completed flash application will be built using Flex2 API, so therefore good understanding and experience of Flex2 SDK is necessary. The application will make use of streaming webcam sessions provided by Red5 Streaming server, therefore a good understanding of Red5 is also necessary, but Red5 server-side development is not necessary. The chat client session will be based on 2-way media chats - one buyer and one seller, defined by details set out by a mySQL database and the php session that calls the client. All required information regarding chat sessions will be retrieved by communication with a purpose-built php process. This process entails requests and responses in the form of XML structures. The processes for handling the xml communication has been prepared, and further information regarding that can be discussed once the task has been agreed upon. An example of the the xml request/response specifications are as follows: user ids/usernames of both parties in the chat, credits remaining from the buyer, rate per min for chat, calculated time remaining/allotted to chat session. The main outline of the flash client has already been developed (further details upon request), and is based on Flex2 API, it is important that further development of this client remains in Flex2, and sourcecode (existing and further) will remain the property of Minutebox.
