I have a custom PCB for a UHF RFID reader (Theia RFID UX10 Reader) that integrates the M7e-Mega RFID module with a CP2102N-A02-GQFN20R USB-to-UART bridge. The board is not enumerating on Windows/Linux — it shows the classic error: “A request for the USB device descriptor failed” (Code 43 in Device Manager) Possible root cause in the schematic: R2 (22.6 kΩ) is incorrectly placed in series between VBUS (+5V) and the VREGIN pin (pin 5) of the CP2102N. According to the Silicon Labs datasheet, VREGIN must be connected directly to VBUS in bus-powered mode. I am looking for an experienced hardware/PCB engineer to: Review and correct the full schematic (Altium format preferred) — specifically the CP2102N power section. Provide a clean, production-ready updated schematic with the VREGIN fix (remove/replace R2 with 0 Ω or direct connection) and any other recommended improvements for USB reliability (decoupling, ESD protection, etc.). Option A (preferred): Update the existing PCB layout and generate new Gerber/Drill files for a quick respin. Option B: Provide detailed modification instructions (cut trace + jumper) for the existing prototype boards if I prefer to avoid a full respin. Deliverables: Updated Altium schematic + PCB files (or native format you use) Revised Gerber/Drill/Assembly files (if respin) BOM updates if any components change Short report explaining the changes and any additional best-practice recommendations for USB stability
