Hello Client, Your 63m aluminium vessel’s RINA approval work requires dependable structural analysis, and I can support a disciplined FEA workflow from the existing 3D structural model through clear engineering documentation. I would develop the simplified global model, assess longitudinal and torsional strength under defined load cases, review stresses and deformations, and perform focused local analysis of the engine foundations. I can also help structure the resistance-study inputs for the specified speed range, with Solidworks-compatible model preparation and 3D Modelling support where needed. The results will be organized into a review-ready calculation report, with assumptions and boundary conditions clearly documented for RINA discussion. Please share the native structural model, material/scantling data, load cases, and preferred analysis software so I can confirm the scope and timeline; Would RINA require a specific solver, modelling standard, or load-case template for the global FEA and engine-foundation assessment? Best regards, Sahil

I can leverage my experience in performing simplified global FEA for similar aluminum superyachts to efficiently generate the required longitudinal and torsional analysis for your 63m vessel. My process will focus on extracting key structural elements from your existing 3D model to create a robust yet manageable global FEA model, ensuring accurate stress and deformation calculations for all specified load cases. My technical approach will involve utilizing ANSYS Mechanical for FEA, employing appropriate beam and shell elements for global analysis, and solid elements for the localized engine foundation study. I will meticulously define load conditions based on RINA rules and operational scenarios. For CFD, I will use STAR-CCM+ to generate a high-quality hull mesh and perform steady-state RANS simulations to accurately predict resistance across the specified speed range, including hull-form optimization considerations if beneficial. To ensure alignment, could you confirm the preferred output format for the RINA calculation report and what level of detail is expected for the CFD inputs (e.g., hull lines plan, existing CFD data)? I'm available to discuss the project in more detail and how my expertise can directly contribute to your RINA class approval timeline.

I will do FEA and CFD analysis for your 63m aluminium vessel to get it ready for RINA class approval. I will start by building the simplified global FEA model using your 3D structural model, so I can run global strength, longitudinal, and torsional analysis, also apply the relevant load cases to get stresses and deformations. Then I will do the local FEA on the engine foundations, creating a calculation report for RINA. For CFD, I will run resistance calculations at the speeds you listed: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 knots and maximum speed. I would build the global FEA model first because it establishes the foundational structural integrity that local analysis builds upon. Also, a strong global model informs the loads for local analysis, which is the logical order. What specific software are you using for the 3D structural model and for the FEA and CFD analysis? My approach uses ANSYS for FEA and OpenFOAM for CFD, which are industry standards for this type of marine analysis. I have a 5.0 rating across 10 reviews on here and Preferred Freelancer status. I will send back a detailed proposal outlining the FEA and CFD approach, software versions, and a fixed price once I have the necessary software details.
