As per the Macro Project word doc attached in reference to the spreadsheet attached also with the 3 tab sheets
Aim: 2 part Macro to be programmed in excel VBA
Part 1: There’s 2 parts to this macro, on the main page has 2 macro buttons, when the Macro Part 1 button is clicked the macro looks for the value on column 1 in the tab “Vlookup Values” and looks for the value in the first column in the tab “ Data File” when each value from the Vlookup tab is found in the Data file tab the corresponding matching row (i.e. the whole row) is copied from the Tab “Data File” and pasted into a new sheet with the exact same columns header as in the “Data File” Tab.
Part 2: The Macro Part 2 is the second part of the macro which works on the new sheet created with the pasted rows from the macro part 1 above where once this macro is clicked the new Tab sheet which the data was pasted into is arranged so that the macro looks up the columns with the header “J”, “X”, “K” and “V” and keeps those columns and deletes the remaining columns. Please note that the column order can be in random order so it’s important for the macro to scan the column headers for the actual title ie “J” or “V” etc and keep those columns and delete the other columns.
**Important considerations when programming the macro the format of each column can be anything so the lookup values and different columns could be dates, names, numbers, or a combination of numbers and text etc. so it’s important for the macro to be able to recognise what the different format is in the lookup column and work with it without having an error.
**Also it’s important for the macro to work even with null values throughout the spreadsheet as there will be blank rows or cells empty values etc. so the macro has to function even with null data values it just has to ignore the null values and go to the next value.
