I have a sophisticated Excel Spreadsheet that is used in the Australian Financial Advice industry. It is used for research and analysis on a couples financial situation and allows for recommendations off the back of the analyisis.
One of the next features to add on is the ability to hold a database of managed funds/investments. Each fund would have detail of its fees (ICR and MER), asset allocation, buy/sell spread, and potentially performance figures.
We would expect to have a list of around 500 managed funds with all this detail.
There are a number of places that we will need to be able to select various managed funds, and the % that would go into each fund to produce a portfolio. The portfolio would then need the weighted total figures for each of the different variables.
Also, we would need a way to be able to analyse transaction fees for rebalancing a portfolio. ie it would need to work out the buy sell spread fees on the different rebalances.
This will make a lot more sense once I show you 2 spreadsheets that we have. However, given the size of the spreadsheet already - we need someone with the skills to make sure that it all works very efficiently and easily.
Lastly - I require someone who is very detail oriented and ensures that they then test their work and make sure that it works how it should. I don't want to have to test it all again after each edit to make sure that it works as intended.
Once Complete - there is a second project that will deal with financial projections over time. It would require quite a bit of work and will put you in good stead to get this job as well.
