(1) An implementation of an investment strategy using the [url removed, login to view] API trading platform called "thinkorswim" (TOS). (2) A Graphical User Interface (GUI) to modify algorithm parameters and digest API data

A 2 part project in Windows 8.1 using the [url removed, login to view] trading platform called "thinkorswim" (TOS).

Full payment will be made at the successful conclusion of the project to my personal satisfaction. This is a fixed-price project and is time-sensitive. It does not pay on an hourly basis.

The successful candidate must have the ability to step outside their comfort zone and to "think outside the box."

Part One

Using thinkScript programming language (with instruction manuals provided by TDAmeritrade), construct a rectangular box which can be hidden with a right click and which is otherwise visible at all times by default in all time frames. The rectangular box is to be taller than it is wide and is to contain ten (10) small square boxes which permit me to enter a one, two or three digit number. These numbers are to be saved by default, but can be edited or deleted. I am to have the ability to specify a start date and an end date for a lookback period in which the program will search for all of the highest high and lowest low prices for a given trading symbol which sum to and create a match with numbers entered in the 10 small square boxes. I am to have a "SEARCH" button which, when clicked, initiates a search for the parameter I have specified. Example : if I enter the number "23" in one of the 10 small square boxes, then the program will search for only all of the highest high or lowest low prices within the lookback period which sum to "23," If a high price of 2394.50 were to be found, there is a match, because 2+3+9+4+5+0=23. This high point would then be noted by placing text (to be specified) above the high point, including the date and time of occurrence. The sum of the digits will also be displayed for the date and for the time of that trade, as provided by TDAmeritrade. Sum of the digit price, date and time data is also to be transferred to an Excel spreadsheet with appropriate columns provided for my use. I presently have the ability to edit or delete text or to change font size or color of any text in the present version of TOS, and that feature will be retained for any programming done.

Part Two

Part 2 will involve creating a trading algorithm which connects to the TOS trading platform and can initially trade “paper money” based on live data which is provided by TDAmeritrade. The “paper money” trades will be triggered by instructions which I will provide. The trading algorithm will also have the ability to trade real money, so it must be connected to the TOS trading platform with live quotes. The trading algorithm must have the ability to post all trades, whether paper money or real money, to Excel trading logs for backtest purposes.

Yes, the TOS trading platform does have a “paper money” trading feature for practice purposes. Accessing the “paper money” trading feature, as well as separately accessing the “live money” feature will be necessary.

Project is time-sensitive and is to be totally completed within 60 days to my satisfaction.

The successful applicant must be of legal age with the capacity to legally contract with me and give a nondisclosure agreement. The successful applicant will be willing to agree to give up any copyright interest in the programming provided to me in exchange for a token consideration of $1 USD, which will be paid in addition to the agreed upon contract price.

A resume will be required with 3 references and contact info for other people for whom programming has been satisfactorily completed by you within the past year. Please state the total years of your programming experience and the languages with which you are most familiar.

An unpaid internship is available to a qualified student applicant. At the conclusion of the internship and the successful completion of all parts of this project, a Letter of Recommendation will be given.
