We need to create some queries in Access that pulls data, similar to a VLookup in Excel. We have four Excel spreadsheets that need to be converted to Access database:
1) Database with Zip Codes and Metro Areas
2) Database with Household values connected to different Groups (Group A, Group B, etc) in their respective zip codes.
3) Database with the behaviors associated with each group.
4) Database with Groups and their associated Demographics.
Database 1 Columns = Metro, Zip
Database 2 Columns = Zip, Group #, Group Household Value A, Group Household Value B, Group Household Value C
Database 3 Columns = Group #, Group Behavior
Database 4 Columns = Group #, Age Range, Income, etc.
Objectives:
1) Our primary objective is to be able to enter in a list of zip codes/metro areas and group specifications (e.g. 84889, 44492, 29922; Group D, Group Z) and return the Household values for those groups in those zip codes.
2) Additionally, we would like to be able to query the Group behaviors associated with their Household values.
3) We would also like to be able to input demographic filters (e.g. Age: 25-35, Income: $25K +) and return the Groups that have those demographics.
Conclusion:
This should be a relatively quick project, a 2-5 hours at most, since we have all of the Excel spreadsheet ready to roll.
