1. Project Summary This project is to build a fully automated spreadsheet macro that makes customer pricing analysis quicker and easier. The workbook should let me select a customer by name from a dropdown, compare that customer’s pricing against shareholder pricing, and test pricing changes using the Pricing Incentive column. The macro needs to calculate the updated net price automatically and then update the variance to shareholder pricing based on the new price. 24 Hour Limit 2. Main Requirements Customer Selection The Customer List sheet should be used to create a dropdown list so I can select different customers by name. At the moment, the template is using the fake company data for Plastermax. The goal is for this to be replaceable by selecting another customer from the dropdown. When a new customer is selected, the sheet should also clear/reset any existing data in the Pricing Incentive column. This is important so old percentages are not accidentally left in the sheet when checking a different customer. Pricing Data Item prices should be pulled from the Item Prices sheet. Any column currently labelled Price P/M on the Data Update sheet should be changed to Effective Net Price. This Effective Net Price should reflect the actual effective net price from the PriceLists sheet. Shareholder pricing should always be used as the baseline comparison. The shareholder price should be pulled first before comparing against any selected customer pricing. Pricing Incentive Logic The Pricing Incentive column is where I will enter the percentage change. The logic needs to work like this: A negative percentage, such as -2%, means the customer’s discount is being reduced. This should make the final price go up. A positive percentage, such as 2%, means the customer is getting more discount. This should make the final price go down. This should not be based on the approximate base discount percentage. It needs to be based on the customer’s current effective net price. For example, item 12703600 currently has an effective net price of $1.91 per metre. If I enter -2%, I want the macro to adjust the current price by 2%, not simply change the discount percentage by 2%. Updated Variance to Shareholder The Updated Variance to Shareholder should automatically update based on the percentage entered in the Pricing Incentive column. Once the macro calculates the new effective net price, it should compare that new price back to the shareholder price and show the updated variance. 3. Workflow Open the pricing template. Select a customer from the dropdown list. The macro pulls in the customer’s current effective net prices. The macro also pulls in the shareholder pricing for comparison. Enter pricing incentive percentages where needed. The macro calculates the updated effective net price. The macro updates the variance to shareholder pricing. If a different customer is selected, the Pricing Incentive column should reset to avoid mistakes. 4. Workbook / Sheet Requirements The workbook should use the following sheets: Data Update This is the main working sheet where the pricing analysis happens. Changes needed: Rename and adjust Price P/M to Effective Net Price. Pull the effective net price from the PriceLists sheet. Show the shareholder price for comparison. Allow pricing incentive percentages to be entered. Automatically calculate the updated effective net price. Automatically calculate the updated variance to shareholder. Customer List This sheet should contain the customer names used for the dropdown menu. The dropdown should allow me to select a customer by name, not by account number. When the selected customer changes, the Pricing Incentive column should clear automatically. PriceLists This sheet contains the effective net prices that should be used in the Data Update sheet. The Data Update sheet should reflect the correct effective net price from here. Item Prices This sheet contains the item price data and should be used when matching item codes/SKUs. 5. Final Deliverable The final workbook should be a working macro-enabled Excel file that can: Select customers by name. Pull customer pricing automatically. Pull shareholder pricing automatically. Update effective net prices based on entered incentive percentages. Recalculate the updated variance to shareholder pricing. Clear old incentive data when changing customers. Handle the pricing logic correctly for both positive and negative percentages. Avoid relying on the approximate base discount when calculating price changes.

Hi, the detail that matters most in your spec is that the incentive works off the current effective net price, not the base discount. So -2% on item 12703600 at $1.91 lifts it to roughly $1.95, and the shareholder variance recalcs from that new figure. That's a Worksheet_Change event tied to the incentive column, lookups against PriceLists and Item Prices by SKU, the dropdown fed from Customer List, and an auto-clear of incentives whenever the selected customer changes so stale percentages never carry over. Before you commit to anyone: send the workbook (or a dummy copy) and I'll wire up the customer dropdown plus the auto-clear as a free demo today. You see it working first, then decide. The 24-hour window is fine on my end. A lot of my Freelancer work over the years has been automation jobs like this, 664 reviews on the profile if you want to sanity-check. Hello, I have thoroughly reviewed the project requirements for the Excel Macro Automation project, specifically focusing on the need for a fully automated spreadsheet macro to streamline customer pricing analysis. Let's chat and discuss it further. To handle your project, I will start with creating a dynamic Customer Selection dropdown list that allows seamless switching between different customers. By integrating the Pricing Data from the Item Prices sheet, I will ensure accurate calculations of the Effective Net Price and precise comparison with Shareholder pricing. The Pricing Incentive Logic will be meticulously implemented to adjust prices based on entered percentages, updating the Variance to Shareholder accordingly. The clear deliverables of this project will be a functional macro-enabled Excel file that automates customer pricing selection, pricing comparisons, and accurate net price updates. Before signing-off my bid, I would like to ask a question, i.e., how frequently do you anticipate the pricing data to be updated in this macro automation process? Best Regards, Aneesa.

What stands out is that the calculation itself is the critical part here, not just the macro. The workbook already has the data, so I'd start by mapping how the Customer List, PriceLists, Item Prices and Data Update sheets relate, then wire the customer dropdown so switching customers refreshes the correct pricing and clears any existing Pricing Incentive values automatically to avoid carry-over mistakes. From there I'd base every adjustment on the customer's current effective net price, not the approximate discount, so entering -2% increases the net price correctly while +2% reduces it. Once the new price is calculated, the variance against shareholder pricing updates immediately using the same logic throughout the workbook. I've built similar spreadsheet automation where accuracy mattered more than complexity, so I tend to add validation around missing SKUs or unmatched customer records rather than letting calculations silently fail. I'm ready to start as soon as you share the workbook.

★•══•★ Hi client ★•══•★ I have experience building Excel automation solutions using VBA macros, dynamic formulas, pricing models, data validation, and business reporting workflows. My approach will be: ✔️ First, I will review your workbook structure, including Data Update, Customer List, PriceLists, and Item Prices, to understand the current pricing logic. ✔️ Then, I will build the automation to: • Select customers by name through dropdowns • Pull customer and shareholder pricing automatically • Replace Price P/M with Effective Net Price • Calculate updated prices using Pricing Incentive values • Recalculate variance against shareholder pricing • Reset incentives when switching customers ✔️ I will ensure positive and negative incentives correctly adjust the current effective net price rather than relying on approximate discounts. ✔️ Finally, I will test multiple scenarios and deliver a clean macro-enabled Excel file with documentation. My question is: does the PriceLists sheet already contain all customer pricing data, or should I also create an update/import process? Best regards. Rico

Hi, I can develop your macro-enabled Excel workbook exactly as described. I have experience automating Excel with VBA, dynamic lookups, formulas, and pricing analysis workflows. My solution will include: • Customer dropdown populated from the Customer List sheet. • Automatic loading of customer Effective Net Prices from the PriceLists sheet. • Automatic retrieval of Shareholder pricing as the comparison baseline. • Renaming "Price P/M" to "Effective Net Price." • Pricing Incentive logic that adjusts the current Effective Net Price directly (positive % = more discount → lower price, negative % = less discount → higher price). • Automatic calculation of the Updated Effective Net Price. • Automatic recalculation of Variance to Shareholder based on the new price. • Automatic clearing of all Pricing Incentive values whenever a different customer is selected to prevent errors. • Clean, well-documented VBA code that is easy to maintain and expand. Before starting, I only need to confirm: 1. Are the Shareholder prices stored on the PriceLists sheet or another sheet? 2. Should selecting a customer refresh all items or only those already listed in the Data Update sheet? I'm ready to begin immediately and can deliver a fully tested macro-enabled workbook within 24 hours. Best regards.

Hello, A pricing macro built around effective net price rather than approximate base discount is the detail that actually matters here — get that wrong and every variance calculation downstream is off. ⭐ I've built Excel VBA pricing tools before with dropdown-driven customer selection and dependent-column resets tied to lookup changes ⭐. ➡️ My approach: dropdown pulls the customer's effective net price from PriceLists and shareholder price as baseline, the Pricing Incentive macro adjusts the actual net price directly (not the discount %), and Updated Variance recalculates against shareholder pricing automatically. ⬅️ ? Switching customers clears the Pricing Incentive column automatically so no stale percentages carry over. ✅ You'll get a working macro-enabled workbook handling both positive and negative incentive logic correctly, with Data Update, Customer List, PriceLists, and Item Prices sheets all wired together. Given the 24-hour window, I can start immediately on the Data Update sheet logic — want me to confirm turnaround once I see the current workbook? ? Best,

Greetings, I see that you're looking to create a macro that streamlines your customer pricing analysis. The main goal is to enable quick customer selection, automate net price calculations, and ensure accurate variance updates against shareholder pricing. This will save you time and reduce the chance of errors when managing multiple customer scenarios. To tackle this, I’ll set up a user-friendly dropdown for customer selection, ensuring the Pricing Incentive column resets with each change to avoid confusion. I’ll also make sure that the calculations for updated net prices and variances reflect accurate pricing adjustments based on the entered percentages. With my experience in Excel macro development and data processing, I can confidently deliver a solution that meets your needs effectively. I look forward to discussing how we can make this project a success together.

The pricing workbook needs to be accurate, flexible, and safe to use every time. Joshua here. You want a macro that lets you select any customer, compare their pricing to shareholder pricing, and test incentive changes without stale data causing errors. One key risk is calculating from discount logic instead of the current effective net price, which can distort every variance result. I would build this in Excel VBA with dropdown driven customer selection, automatic sheet refresh, and event based clearing of the Pricing Incentive column when the customer changes. I would also map the Item Prices and PriceLists sheets carefully so Effective Net Price, shareholder baseline, and updated variance all recalculate from the right source fields. I can work around your time zone and keep the communication easy. Q: Should the updated variance to shareholder be shown as a dollar amount, a percentage, or both? Let us discuss the workbook flow and I can help you get this moving quickly.
