● To critically evaluate the theory and practice of Lean Product Development and Manufacture in line with enabling increased agility and enhanced organizational learning.
● Critically evaluate the underlining principles of lean and agile engineering from six sigma, CI, SMED, SCRUM, kaizen, Muda, 5S etc and estimate their importance within the engineering environment.
● Appreciate the benefits of advanced manufacturing processes and be able to explain, discuss and debate the benefits of cellular manufacture, CADCAM, DFM, DFA .
● This module will develop the following employability skills, communication, decision making, problem solving, goal setting, action planning, CV development (portfolio/show real).
Should be no more than 6,000 words and use the template provided in VLE. The standard penalty for coursework which fails to adhere to the stated count in the Assessment Description is 5% of the final mark for every ±10% outside the required limit. Title page, abstract, contents page, appendix do not count in the word count of 6000.
The end format MUST be submitted to VLE via Turnitin. Remember you should take notes in your fellow student’s presentations but must not plagiarise their work.
