Are you currently studying (or have studied) advanced astronautics or astrophysics?
Do you know a lot about the way rockets and space probes work from the materials they are made out of to how they function in the utterly hostile environment of space?
If so, then this could be the perfect project for you!
I was born and raised in New Zealand and still reside there. I have been fascinated by space travel since I was about five. After reading up a lot on the subject, I am now looking to launch my own small space rocket about 100km above the ground where it can just reach space. It will be done for both commercial and research purposes. If the project is a success then I will launch another bigger and better rocket to reach Low Earth Orbit. I have been in touch with both Rocket Lab and the Centre for Space Science Technology in my country, and plan to use their services in the long term. However, that is only when I am established and have enough funding. For now, I need to first become established and I believe I can do that by sending a small sounding rocket (as they are commonly called) just into space. I think that something like NASA's Nike-Apache rocket that was first launched back in 1961 or the RH-200 rocket launched by India in 1979, or the Civilian Space eXploration Team's "Go Fast" rocket launched in 2004 would be an ideal start for me.
What I now require is for someone to source the best small "startup" rocket from the past, research its plans and specs, and prepare a report that I can use to get the job done. This report will not only include research on the rocket, its plans and how it works but also how it can be built today in or near New Zealand - and then launched from there. In addition, I require work done on where and when in the country I should launch it and who I should use to launch it with and monitor its journey. On that note, the rocket's payload can be very small because all it needs to carry is a few cameras and some basic monitoring equipment to record its journey to the edge of the heavens and beam the data down to me on earth. Last, but certainly not least, conservative costing would be needed because I am budgeting for a total cost of about NZ $20,000 - $50,000 for successfully launching the rocket.
Please only bid if you can definitely deliver all of the above and let me know if you have any questions or queries. Thank you.
